Welcome to Blue Hills Behavioral Services, built on the dedication of seasoned experts in psychology and behavioral analysis.

Dr. Sorensen graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and went on to work in research, studying early diagnosis and intervention for children and families with ASD. She earned her PhD and BCBA from Eastern Michigan University. She completed a post-doc at Hawthorn Center working with SMI and trauma in youth. 

For the last 5 years, before launching psychological services through her private practice, she worked as a school psychologist in a local public school system. Her primary role was evaluations for special education services. 

Dr. Sorensen has decades of experience conducting assessments and evidence-based psychotherapies to help improve the lives of those she has worked with.

Dr. Sorensen has provided supervision for students pursuing their BCBA for over a decade and has provided supervision for psychology licensing since 2019. Her focus is on guiding students and early career professionals through the supervision process for licensure and accreditation. 

Her personal approach and extensive qualifications ensure each client’s unique needs are met with care and professionalism.

When she is not supervising, teaching, assessing, and reading, she loves to watch her children play sports and attend UM football games!
